Five Fingers Reef
Five reef “fingers” off a remote beach — shallow, calm and fish-rich, about 4.5 km south.
Named for five parallel reef fingers that run from the beach out to roughly 200 m offshore, this spot about 4.5 km south of town is shallow (around 1–3 m), calm and teeming with reef fish — a favourite with families and a reef that largely escaped the coral damage that hit Bill’s Bay in 2022.
Access is the catch: soft 4WD sand tracks off Monck Head Drive, a roughly 6 km return beach walk from the boat ramp, or a guided quad-bike tour. Currents can run here, so it is a step up from the sheltered town beach.
