Mandu Mandu rock-wallabies

The banded cliffs of Mandu Mandu are a stronghold for black-flanked rock-wallabies (better known locally as black-footed rock-wallabies), which pick their way along ledges that look impossible. In the soft light of early morning they come out to feed and bask, and a quiet walker has a real chance of watching them.

Bring binoculars and patience, move slowly, and scan the shaded ledges across the gorge rather than the trail at your feet.
