Reef fishing charter
📍 Coral BayHead out past the reef for coral trout, emperor and pelagics — outside the sanctuary zones.
Charters run from Coral Bay out through the reef passages to the outer reef and deeper water, where the fishing is for coral trout, red and spangled emperor, cod and pelagics like Spanish mackerel, tuna and wahoo. Inside the lagoon there’s whiting, trevally and squid in the zones where fishing is allowed.
Coral Bay sits in a marine park with big no-take sanctuary zones — including Bill’s Bay itself — so a lot of the bay is off-limits. Charters know the boundaries; if you’re fishing from shore or your own boat, check the zoning and the WA rules first.
How it works
- Half- and full-day charters to the outer reef; calmest weather is May–Aug.
- Shore-based finfish fishing is allowed in a designated zone along Paradise Beach; fish must be landed whole.
