Oyster Bridge
A rock “bridge” shelters a calm lagoon about 14 km north — easy snorkelling, 4WD or quad only.
About 14 km north of town in the Bateman Sanctuary Zone, a long arm of rock runs parallel to the beach and forms a small, sheltered lagoon. The calm, shallow water and marine life right off the sand make it ideal for young or nervous snorkellers.
It is best on a lower tide; when the water is up you can swim over or around the bridge to see more coral and fish. Access is by 4WD over soft sand (follow the signs from the coastal access road) or on a quad-bike tour from town.
