Charles Knife Road climbs a knife-edge ridge into the eastern side of Cape Range, with steep canyons falling away on both sides. It is the classic Exmouth sunrise drive: in low light the canyon walls fall into deep relief and the gulf glows behind you.

Lookouts dot the way up, and a walking trail continues from near the top for those who want to keep going on foot.
